What to Expect
I will prepare you like you're an astronaut heading into space. That is to say, extremely thoroughly. Here's a snapshot of what you'll get:
- At least one phone consultation (two is the minimum for weddings)
- Outfit recommendations
- Location options/suggestions
- A checkbox-style shot list for priorities
- A list of things to bring (props, outfit changes, hair/makeup helpers, etc.)
I had a bad experience with my own wedding photographer...
My husband John and I tied the knot on September 21, 2023 and of course, having so much experience in photography, one of the first vendors we booked was the photographer.
It was a micro-wedding (20 guests) so we tried to keep costs as low as we could, but having amazing photos from the day was the most important thing to us. I searched for hours, days, weeks... Meticulously comparing reviews, prices, offerings, and more between all the photographers in San Diego. We went with a husband-wife photo/video duo who looked great on paper, had an amazing gallery of past weddings, and yet, was one of the most reasonably priced services in the city, and we didn't know why!
Well, we knew why by the time our experience was through with them.
They took MONTHS to respond to our phone calls and emails, they promised wedding photos within 1-2 months before the holidays but instead, we got them in the new year, they offered to edit any RAW images we liked but that weren't delivered edited, and then never responded when we asked for just that. To top it all off, they completely missed one of the most important parts (to us) of our wedding (among missing several other important parts): The private last dance.
